Critical Acclaim
96 Points by Wine Enthusiast
After a year’s hiatus, Cyril is back, and almost entirely composed of 99% Cabernet this vintage (with 1% Cab Franc). It’s all the more expressive for it. Blueberry and black cherry fruit is neatly tucked behind notes of iodine, cigar box, tomato leaf, dried herbs and flowers. The palate is slinky and sexy, but also powerful. It offers crunchy fruit, taut tannins and layers of tex- ture. Uniquely Henschke, there isn’t another wine in Australia like it. Drink now–2040.

94 Points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Svelte and refined, the 2015 Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon is wonderfully composed and complete. Hints of cedar, earth and tobacco appear on the nose alongside cassis and black cherries, while the medium to full-bodied palate is streamlined yet generous and richly textured, leading into a lingering, silky finish. Elegant and concentrated, it should drink well for over a decade.

94 Points by Vinous
Deep, lurid ruby. A sexy, highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe black and blue fruits, candied licorice, spice cake, cola and vanilla with a cedary oak aspect and a hint of pipe tobacco emerging slowly. Sweet and seamless on the palate, offering intense, densely packed boysenberry, cassis, bitter chocolate and clove flavors that pick up a smoky accent on the back half. Blends power and finesse with a smooth hand and finishes impressively long and spicy with dusty tannins coming on steadily.

93 Points by James Suckling
From a great cabernet vintage in Eden Valley, this has a wealth of fresh-herb, forest-leaf and wood aromas with an assertive and richly fruited palate that has a strong core of ripe blackeberries and blackcurrants with subtly toasty oak and ripe, plush, velvety tannins. A blend of 99% cabernet sauvignon and 1% cabernet franc. Drink over the next 15 years.
