An unusual blend from the warmer central vineyards in the high elevation Elqui Valley.
TASTING NOTES
Made in a style similar to old world Italian, this is a very fruit driven wine that is juicy (not jammy). Intense ripe blackberry and plum fruits with a touch of vanilla and spice.

I tend to find that the Syrah dominates the nose in the 2017 Carmenere Syrah, with black olive and oily aromas, hints of smoked bacon and tar. There is a more noticeable pepperiness in the palate that brings to mind the Carmenere (which is 55% of the volume). A successful, if unexpected, blend that shows the wild character of Elqui.
